Rs 18,000 crore in 4 months Gujarat announces black money

Gujarat has declared a cash reward of Rs 18,000 crore (Black Money) in four months under the Revenue Declaration Plan (IDS). This is 29 percent of the unexplored black money that has been exposed across the country. It is worth noting that in the four months from June to September 2016, the Gujarat government has announced an unprecedented amount of Rs 18,000 crore of IDS worth Rs 18,000 crore before the central government invalidated the old notes. The Income Tax (IT) Department, which has provided details on a petition filed by the RTI Act, has stated that the total amount declared under the scheme is 29 per cent of the sum assured of Rs 65,250 crore. Gujarat’s real estate maestro Mahesh Shah has reportedly received Rs. 18,000 block money in Gujarat before announcing the illegal revenue of Rs. 13,860 crore. On December 21, 2016, Bharat Sinha Jha filed an RTI application seeking information on black money revealed in Gujarat after the Ahmedabad-based property dealer Mahesh Shah announced an amount of Rs 13,860 crore. Income Tax officials have been required for two years to draw information about this.
