The worm was found in the food provided to passengers from pantry car. Following a complaint by the passengers, the food was taken over by the Food Inspector.
The incident occurred on Friday morning at Parashuram Express, which was moving from Nagercoil to Mangalore. The black moth was found in a container with a spicy masala from the family moved to Thiruvananthapuram from Shornur. The food was found after eating the worm.
The other passengers were informed when they reached Changanassery. In the meantime, some people who were on permanent passengers informed the Trivandrum Division through WhatsApp group Friends on Railways. The information was later informed to the Kottayam railway station.
The food was taken under the leadership of the Commercial Inspector of Kottayam. On the subject, the family filed a complaint with the railway authorities, giving evidence of photos and videos.
Pantry operators are in agreement with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC). Railway officials said that the passenger’s complaint was taken seriously and action would be taken in finding food in the mug.
There were complaints about the shortage of food, tea, tea, coffee and other food items. Officials said action would be taken if they were to take up such cases. Regular passengers say that there is no action on the part of Railways.
