Sindhu led India in the ongoing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games


Silver medal winner PV Rao at Rio Olympics The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has announced that India will be the flagship flag of the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, India’s flagship event.

Sindhu, who reached the semi-finals of the All England Championships last week at the IOA meeting on Friday evening, decided to select the flag. Hyderabad Badminton player Sindhu is the favorite player to win the medal in the Commonwealth Games. Sindhu, who won the bronze in women’s singles at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2014, hopes to improve her performance this time.

The first ever Badminton player has been selected as the Flagback Player of the Year after the Commonwealth Games of the last three.

The silver medalist shooter at the Athens Olympics at the 2006 Melbourne Games, the current Union Minister of State for Sports, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathod was flagged off at the inaugural ceremony.

Abhinav Bindra, the gold medalist at the Beijing Olympics in the 2010 Games, took the flag of India in the process. Silver medalist shooter Vijay Kumar was given flagging responsibility at the London Olympics in 2014’s Glasgow Games.
