The Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has announced plans to pull out two of its ministers from the NDA government, raising speculation that it will withdraw from the NDA alliance

  • BJP cabinet ministers submitted their resignation in the CM office in Amaravati
  • Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Minister of State for Science and Technology YS Chowdary will resign on 8 March, AP CM Naidu said
  • Chowdary said the decision is “unfortunate” but “unavoidable”
  • Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut said the allies don’t hold good relations with BJP anymore
  • Naidu said he tried to inform PM Modi, but he was “unavailable” but they are likely to meet him
  • The TDP announcement, late on 7 March, came after Arun Jaitley ruled out a special category status for Andhra Pradesh, pacifying the lawmakers with a special package for the state instead
