“Everyone has to be confident of security. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “Whoever tries to sabotage peace and believes in a firearm will be answered in the gun language.”
Speaking at a program in Gorakhpur, he mentioned the recent encounters in the state. The Uttar Pradesh assembly had strongly protested against the government on Wednesday in connection with the recent encounters in the state.
According to the Office of Police Directorate’s Office, there were 1,142 encounters in Uttar Pradesh between March 20, 2017 and January 31, 2018. 38 people have been charged with criminal charges. Over the last 25 days, 60 encounters have been carried out and eight people have been killed.
On January 11, the Indian Express reported that 921 encounters were reported during the 10-month period after the BJP government came to power in Uttar Pradesh. Of these 29 encounters, 30 were killed. The report quoted three police personnel as being dead.
